Exploritas
No matter what O.R.E. trip you take you'll find that our guides enjoy sharing
their knowledge of the river with you. By trip's end you've had a fun and
rejuvenating vacation, and you may find you've learned a thing or two along the
way.
We also offer a series of river trips - run in cooperation with Exploritas - (formerly known as Elderhostel) which offer even greater opportunities for learning.
Exploritas is the nation's first and the world's largest educational and travel organization for adults. It serves nearly 170,000 program attendees each year, four times larger than all other not-for-profit educational travel providers combined. Exploritas offers nearly 8,000 educational programs on a vast array of subjects, in over 90 countries. O.R.E. is Exploritas’ most experienced rafting outfitter. We run more Exploritas whitewater river trips – and more Exploritas wilderness river trips – than does any other company or institution, world-wide.
On an Exploritas river trip our guides (joined in some cases by guest instructors) will
introduce you to a variety of regional topics, which may range from river safety
to botany, from river morphology and dynamics to Native American mythology, and
from whitewater paddling techniques to gold rush history.
Our trips focus on experiential learning, and for this reason we encourage each participant to get as involved with each day's activities as their interest and abilities dictate. Join a paddle raft team, try out an inflatable kayak, or help us set up an environmentally friendly river camp: our guides will be happy to share their skills and knowledge with you.
To enroll in an O.R.E. Exploritas trip you will need to contact them directly. You may reach them by phone toll-free at: 1-877-426-8056, or on the web at www.exploritas.org.
