How to Book Your Trip

To reserve your place on an O.R.E. river adventure:   Howard Creek - Rogue River

First, decide on a preferred river. (Our River and Trip Descriptions and River Comparison Chart can help in this regard. Or give us a call - we'll be happy to discuss the options with you.)

Second, decide on a preferred launch date, and perhaps a second choice. (See our 2009 Schedule page, or call our office to inquire about trip availability.)

Next, review our Terms of Sale (found below) to familiarize yourself with our deposit, cancellation, and refund policies.  Please note that you will be required to sign a Participant Agreement. You may download a copy of this Agreement if you wish to review its content before reserving your river trip. We will send you a copy when we confirm your reservation.  (Download Agreement for: 1/2 to 2 day trips -- 3 to 5 day trips

Finally, click on the Reservation Request button (below) to enter O.R.E.'s secure on-line reservation system. (For information about the safety and security of our on-line reservation system please see transaction security, below.)  Or if you prefer you can simply call us at 503-632-6836 or toll-free at 1-800-827-1358.

Terms of Sale

Deposit and final payment requirements - To confirm a reservation you will need to submit a deposit, payable by check or credit card. Required deposits are $35.00 per person for one-day trips, $70.00 per person for two-day trips, and $100.00 per person for trips three days or longer. Most half day tips require payment in full at time of reservation.

Final payment is due 6 weeks prior to your trip for multi-day trips and 3 weeks prior for day trips. Reservations made within 6 weeks (or 3 weeks) of launch date require payment in full at the time your reservation is placed.

Cancellations and Refunds - Please notify us as soon as possible if you find it necessary to cancel your trip. Because we lose the ability to sell reserved spaces to other individuals or groups, we strictly adhere to the following policies:

If you cancel before your final payment is due we offer you two options: (1) A refund of your deposit less a $25 per person cancellation fee ($50 for trips 3 days or longer)*, or (2) Credit towards an O.R.E. trip in the ongoing season less a $25 per reservation transfer fee. (In either case you will receive a full refund for any amount paid above the trip deposit.) Please note that cancellation fees apply to cancellation of the entire reservation as well as to partial cancellations (for instance, reduction in your party size from six to five).

* Rogue lodge and camp/lodge trips may incur additional cancellation fees if levied by one or more lodges.

No credits or refunds will be issued if you cancel after the date by which your final payment is due.

By the way, our trips run as scheduled even when it rains.

If we cancel a trip -  O.R.E. rarely cancels a trip, but we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to water level fluctuations, insufficient reservations, or other factors beyond our control. If we cancel we’ll refund your fees in full, but we cannot reimburse your for other travel expenses you may have incurred.

Transfers - Prior to the final-payment due date you may change your reservation to another trip within the ongoing season. You will be assessed a $25 per reservation transfer fee.  Transfer is subject to availability, but we will make every effort to honor your request.

Responsibility - O.R.E.'s safety record is excellent. But running rivers, like other outdoor activities, involves an element of risk. These risks are described in our Acknowledgment of Risk Agreement, which you will be required to sign. Your signature on this form will be taken as an expression of your willingness to assume personal responsibility for risks that may be encountered on the trip.

Please note the terms of our license - as well common sense - lead us to insist that while on an O.R.E. trip you refrain from consuming alcohol while on the water,  and at lunch.  (We do however allow the consumption of alcohol while in camp on our multi-day trips.)

Travel Insurance - We recommend that you protect yourself and your equipment with the purchase of short-term travel insurance. A variety of coverage options are available. Trip Cancellation insurance protects you against loss of payments you’ve made for travel and lodging, as well as the river trip itself, should you be forced to cancel your trip for a variety of reasons. Baggage insurance includes coverage for damage or loss of baggage and personal items that you bring on the trip. Medical Evacuation insurance pays for emergency transportation to a medical facility (this is an important coverage that your personal medical policy may not include). If you'd like more information please request a Travel Insurance brochure from our office.
