Oregon River Experiences has always been committed to providing a safe environment where friends, family and fellow adventurers could come together to create unforgettable shared experiences.

Due to COVID-19 Oregon River Experiences has changed many of our standard operations.  We will be taking the following precautions and changes for both our day trips and multiday trips. We will also be adapting our cancellation policy due to the needed changes in the travel world.

If you would like further info on our COVID-19 Mitigation Plan policies in regards to how trips run, give us a call.  We do care about the safety of our guests, guides and trip partners and take all required precautions per federal, state & local guidelines.

GENERAL TRIP UPDATES: Updated 3/1/22

  • All equipment/vehicles are sanitized between uses.
  • Hand sanitizer, wipes, cleaning solutions will be available.
  • Masks will be required when traveling in vans with groups other than your own.
  • Mixing of groups will be restricted as much as possible.
  • Other sanitation and cleaning procedures as required.
  • Vaccination is not required to participate in our trips, but ORE will be asking you about your vaccination status, in order to help us better plan for trips and groupings of people.

We will be mixing parties in boats.  If you do not wish to share a boat, you will required to purchase a full boat (6 people).

O.R.E. GUIDE POLICIES FOR COVID-19 VIRUS

The following procedures and protocols are in response to the COVID-19 virus.  These will be practiced and followed by all O.R.E. employees.  Where it pertains, employees will instruct clients on extra precautions and measures that will be taken during trips by themselves as well as O.R.E. guides.

 

SCREENING PROCEDURES:

IF ANY GUEST OR GUIDE IS OR HAS EXPERINCED THE below; THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON A TRIP.

Beginning two weeks prior to each trip we will be screening guests and guides in order to identify individuals for whom participation in a trip may not be advisable. “Screening” email reminders will be sent to each guest, two weeks and one week prior to each trip. We will need to trust in everyone’s honesty and encourage all to err on the side of caution. Please contact us if any of the following might apply:

  • Tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  • Traveled to a Level 3 or other country on the CDC’s COVID-19 travel advisory page
  • Under official quarantine
  • Experiencing a high fever, continuous cough, etc. -see the CDC's Symptoms page
  • Practicing self-quarantine due to contact with suspected infected individuals

Furthermore employees who have had respiratory illness symptoms (cough and shortness of breath), they should stay home until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours, all symptoms have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

ORE POLICY:

If any person reports to ORE of being diagnosed post trip within 7 days of a trip. ORE will report to other clients and staff who were in contact and the needed authorities. 

 

 

TRIP OPERATIONS AND CLEANING PROCEDURES:

FOOD PREPERATION & SERVING:

  • Bleach bucket and rag:
    • Clean down all surfaces prior to use and post use
  • Use of gloves while in the kitchen and anyone handling food
  • Cups will be labeled and people hold onto cup for whole trip
  • Water jugs will be wiped down between each meal use.
  • Extra bleach rinse at end of dishwash line
  • Gloves used during dish line
  • Buffet/self service of food would be severely limited. Guides will typically serve all meals
  • COMMON GROUP SNACKS:
  • Hand sani will be used prior to passing group snacks
  • Guides will serve out snacks by pouring into guests hands (GORP, crackers, etc)
  • Extra handwash station provided for main group area/entrance of tent area

 

COMMON GEAR (PADDLES, HELEMTS, ETC)

  • Assign equipment to people, limit shared use
  • Dip in bleach rinse bucket @ end of each day
  • Hand sani station beside common drink cooler (MULTIDAY)
  • Limit your chair use the same one during each camp (MULTIDAY)
  • Clothing washing:
    • Soak each item thoroughly and sit in each bucket for 30 sec
    • Dump buckets after each use. Rinse with bleach and dry.
  • Rental Gear (tents, sleeping bags and etc):
    • Used once
    • Cleaned/laundered (sleeping bags, liners)
    • Pads wiped down with bleach rinse and air dried
    • Tents will be aired out and sanitized between trips

 

 

 

VEHICLES AND TRANSPORTATION:

  • CLEANING:
    • Use sani wipes and bleach rags to clean down entire van and surfaces (focus on seats, seatbelts, windows, handles, armrests, vents, buttons)
    • Wash vehicle post trip
    • Air vehicle out
  • RIDING IN VEHICLES:
    • Travel with windows down for fresh air
    • Clean hands prior to getting in and post van ride
    • Everyone will be required to wear a mask while travelling in van if in mixed groups(multiday/extended van rides)

 

GROOVER/RESTROOMS

  • Each person/grouping will be given personal TP roll in a zippi
  • A spray sanitizer or sani wipes will be present at the groover
  • Hand sani at actual groover to use before touching seat and post groove use
  • Hand wash back at entrance
  • Use paddles to point to groover (open) .

DAY TRIPS

  • DRIVING/SHUTTLE
    • Clients meet at regular location. One person from each group comes up to get paperwork and then goes back to group
    • When everyone is ready they will use hand sani before entering vans.
    • MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE WORN IN MIXED GROUPS DURING VAN RIDES.
    • SHUTTLE DRIVER WIPE DOWN VEHICLES IN BETWEEN TRIPS
      • Focus on seats, seatbelts, handles, buckles
  • IN BETWEEN TRIPS
    • Used gear is put into one bag-NO REUSING GEAR
    • Keep new gear clean and separate from used
    • SHUTTLE DRIVER WIPE DOWN VEHICLES IN BETWEEN TRIPS
      • Focus on seats, seatbelts, handles, buckles
  • Bring a bucket from shop and bleach
    • Rinse items as needed down at riverside
  • ON BOATS
    • Parties will be mixed, if guests wish not to mix in boats they must purchase the entire boat
    • Masks will not be worn on boats due to the risk of water being inhaled while wearing
